Ross Whyte (Stirling, SCO) run at the 2020 Aberdeen International Curling Championship came to an end in the semifinals with a 5-4 loss to Ross Paterson (Glasgow, SCO). of the 2020 Aberdeen International Curling Championship in Aberdeen, Scotland; Whyte advanced through the quarterfinals with a 6-5 win over Jan Hess (Zug, SUI).
 
Whyte finished 5-0 in the 17-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Whyte defeated Sergei Glukhov (Sochi, RUS) 7-2, then won 8-4 against Robert Fawns (Aberdeen, SCO) and 8-2 against James Craik (Forfar, SCO). Whyte won 6-3 against Daniel Magnusson (Karlstad, SWE), then won 6-3 against Joel Retornaz (Pinerolo, ITA) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Whyte earned 20.938 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Aberdeen International Curling Championship, remaining in 17th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 2.105 after improving upon their best so far this season. Whyte ranks 17th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 201.480 points earned so far this season.
