In their opening game, McQuiggan lost 5-4 to Tom Brewster (Aberdeen, SCO), droppimg another game, 4-2 to Steve Laycock (Saskatoon, SK). McQuiggan lost 7-2 to Brent Pierce (New Westminster , BC) where McQuiggan responded with a 8-3 win over Tyler Tardi (Langley, BC). McQuiggan went on to lose 7-2 against Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.

McQuiggan earned 1.177 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 42 spots the World Ranking Standings into 380th place overall with 2.394 total points. McQuiggan ranks 222nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 1.561 points earned so far this season.
