Michel went on to lose 7-2 against Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste Marie, CAN). Michel lost 8-6 to David Murdoch (Aberdeen, SCO). Michel lost 9-8 to Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) where Michel responded with a 7-5 win over Aku Kauste (Vantaa, FIN). Michel won 7-4 against Rasmus Stjerne (Hvidovre, DEN). Michel went on to lose 5-4 against Rui Liu (Harbin, CHN). Michel responded with a 8-5 win over Yusuke Morozumi (Kariuzawa, JPN). Michel won 6-3 against Jiri Snitil (Praha, CZE) in their final qualifying round match.

Michel earned 12.000 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 12th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 9.277 after improving upon their best so far this season. Michel ranks 11th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 94.010 points earned so far this season.
