In Own Words:
The sport of curling is something that I associate with family. I grew up around of the sport of curling in a small town of 500 people. I spent nights and weekends watching my mom and dad curl until the time I was able to start myself. My family has always rallied around my passion for curling, allowing me to travel and attain this level. My husband and in-laws have also joined in and rallied around this passion.[cr][lf][cr][lf]I got married and started my first job at the University of Minnesota in 2000 and 3 years later finally found what I was missing at the St. Paul Curling Club. I joined the women's league and curled with some of the greats at the club. I met Amy Lou Anderson and Julie Smith and we were fast friends who shared the same passion of competition and curling. [cr][lf][cr][lf]This sport is so thoughtful and allows me to be both an individual and team mate. It holds teams to the truest of sportsmanship with the expectation of calling your own fouls on the ice and finishing a game with a hand shake at the end. [cr][lf]
