Jason Montgomery (Victoria, BC) won 7-2 over Cameron de Jong (Victoria, BC) in the Final of the Prestige Hotels & Resorts Curling Classic, held October 3 - 6 at the Vernon Curling Club in Vernon, Canada. Advancing directly to the semifinals, Montgomery won 9-5 over Wouter Gosgens (Zoetermeer, NED) to advance to the championship game. of the Prestige Hotels & Resorts Curling Classic in Vernon, British Columbia, Canada;
Montgomery finished 4-0 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Montgomery defeated Cody Claeys (Surrey, BC) 11-5, then won 9-3 against Neil Dangerfield (Victoria, BC) and 9-3 against Gosgens. Montgomery won 7-6 against Cody Tanaka (Kamloops, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Prestige Hotels & Resorts Curling Classic Championship title, Montgomery earned 15.000 world rankings points along with the $5,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 27 spots the World Ranking Standings into 76th place overall with 33.422 total points. Montgomery ranks 61st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 15.000 points earned so far this season.
