Silvana Tirinzoni (Aarau, SUI) lost 6-4 to Rachel Homan (Ottawa, ON) in the Final of the AMJ Masters, held September 23 - 28 in London, Ontario. To advance to the championship game, Tirinzoni won 6-3 over Eun ji Gim (Uijeongbu, KOR) in the semifinals of the AMJ Masters in London, Ontario; and won 5-4 over Xenia Schwaller (Zurich, SUI) in the quarterfinals.
Tirinzoni finished 4-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Tirinzoni defeated Rui Wang (Beijing, CHN) 5-4, then won 7-3 against Momoha Tabata (Sapporo, JPN) and 8-3 against Satsuki Fujisawa (Kitami, JPN). Tirinzoni won 5-4 against Sayaka Yoshimura (Sapporo, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the AMJ Masters, Tirinzoni take home 55.000 world rankings points along with the $25,000CDN prize, remaining in 2nd place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 383.688 total points. Tirinzoni ranks 3rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 88.000 points earned so far this season.
