Yamaguchi went on to lose 9-6 against Korey Dropkin (Duluth, USA). Yamaguchi responded with a 7-6 win over Xiao Ming Xu (BEI JING, CHN). Yamaguchi went on to lose 11-5 against Magnus Ramsfjell (Trondheim, NOR). Yamaguchi responded with a 9-7 win over Joel Retornaz (Cembra, ITA) in their final qualifying round match.
