John Epping (Sudbury, NO) won 8-4 over ByeongJin Jeong (Seoul, KOR) in the Final of the Stu Sells Toronto Tankard, held October 10 - 14, 2024 at the High Park Club in Toronto, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Epping won 9-3 over Magnus Ramsfjell (Trondheim, NOR) in the semifinals of the 2024 Stu Sells Toronto Tankard in Toronto, Ontario, Canada; and won 7-3 over Jonathan Beuk (Kingston, ON) in the quarterfinals.
Epping finished 4-0 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Epping defeated Evan Van Amsterdam (Edmonton, AB) 7-6, then won 5-4 against Daniel Hocevar (Toronto, ON) and 8-6 against Yves Stocker (Oberwallis, SUI). Epping won 8-3 against Owen Purcell (Halifax, NS) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Stu Sells Toronto Tankard Championship title, Epping earned 52.500 world rankings points along with the $12,000CDN first prize cheque. For week 11 of the event schedule, Epping did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Epping ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
