Xiao Ming Xu (BEI JING, CHN) won 6-3 over Brent Pierce (New Westminister, BC) in the Final of the Prestige Hotels & Resorts Curling Classic, held October 4 - 6 at the Vernon Curling Club in Vernon, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Xu won 7-2 over Shinya Abe (Sapporo, JPN) in the semifinals of the Prestige Hotels & Resorts Curling Classic in Vernon, British Columbia, Canada; and won 8-1 over Cameron de Jong (Victoria, BC) in the quarterfinals. of the Prestige Hotels & Resorts Curling Classic in Vernon, British Columbia, Canada;
Xu finished 3-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Xu defeated Kaiden Beck (Salmon Arm , BC) 10-0, then won 8-2 against Jason Montgomery (Victoria, BC). Xu went on to lose 8-3 against Abe. Xu responded with a 7-4 win over Jared Kolomaya (Richmond, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Prestige Hotels & Resorts Curling Classic Championship title, Xu earned 18.750 world rankings points along with the $6,000CDN first prize cheque. For week 10 of the event schedule, Xu did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Xu ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
