Mike McEwen (Saskatoon, SK) lost 9-5 to Brad Gushue (St.John's, CAN) in the Final of the Montana's Brier, held March 1 - 10, 2024 in Regina, Saskatchewan. To advance to the championship game, McEwen won 7-3 over Brendan Bottcher (Calgary, AB) in the semifinals of the 2024 Montana's Brier in Regina, Saskatchewan;
 
McEwen finished 7-1 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, McEwen defeated Tyler Smith (Crapaud, PEI) 7-6, then won 7-6 against Gushue and 6-5 against Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB). McEwen went on to lose 7-4 against Matthew Manuel (Halifax, NS). McEwen responded with a 11-6 win over Aaron Sluchinski (Airdrie, AB). McEwen won 10-2 against Jamie Koe (Yellowknife, NT), then won 9-3 against Shane Latimer (Iqaluit, NU) and 7-6 against Jean-Michel Arsenault (Levis, QC) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Montana's Brier, McEwen take home 49.500 world rankings points. McEwen move up 4 spots after posting a net gain of 30.375 points improving upon their best 8 results so far this season, ranking 9th overall with 213.500 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
