Brad Gushue (St.John's, CAN) won 9-5 over Mike McEwen (Saskatoon, SK) in the Final of the Montana's Brier, held March 1 - 10, 2024 in Regina, Saskatchewan.
Gushue finished 6-2 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Gushue defeated Matthew Manuel (Halifax, NS) 7-4, then went on to lose 7-6 against McEwen. Gushue responded with a 9-7 win over Jean-Michel Arsenault (Levis, QC). Gushue went on to lose 7-5 against Jamie Koe (Yellowknife, NT). Gushue responded with a 8-3 win over Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB). Gushue won 8-3 against Shane Latimer (Iqaluit, NU), then won 11-3 against Tyler Smith (Crapaud, PEI) and 10-4 against Aaron Sluchinski (Airdrie, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Montana's Brier Championship title, Gushue earned 67.500 world rankings points. Gushue move up 1 spots after posting a net gain of 48.375 points improving upon their best 8 results so far this season, ranking 6th overall with 286.750 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Gushue ranks 6th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 286.750 points earned so far this season.
