To advance to the championship game, Kim won 8-4 over Yu Han (Beijing, CHN) in the semifinals of the 2023 Stu Sells Tankard in Barrie, Ontario, Canada; and won 9-2 over Rui Wang (Beijing, CHN) in the quarterfinals. of the 2023 Stu Sells Tankard in Barrie, Ontario, Canada;
Kim finished 3-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kim defeated Chelsea Brandwood (Niagara Falls, ON) 4-3, then won 7-1 against Paige Bown (Navan, ON). Kim went on to lose 9-7 against Katelyn Wasylkiw (Milton, ON). Kim responded with a 8-4 win over Hollie Duncan (Woodstock, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Stu Sells Tankard Championship title, Kim earned 30.000 world rankings points along with the $7,000CDN first prize cheque, remaining in 22nd place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 15 after improving upon their best so far this season. Kim ranks 9th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 68.500 points earned so far this season.
