To advance to the championship game, Morozumi won 7-1 over Michael Fournier (Toronto, ON) in the semifinals of the 2023 Stu Sells Tankard in Barrie, Ontario, Canada; and won 5-4 over Marco Hoesli (Glarus, SUI) in the quarterfinals. of the 2023 Stu Sells Tankard in Barrie, Ontario, Canada;
Morozumi finished 3-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Morozumi defeated Daniel Casper (Chaska, MN) 7-1, then won 7-6 against Glenn Howard (Penetanguishene, ON). Morozumi went on to lose 7-6 against Jayden King (Guelph, ON). Morozumi responded with a 9-1 win over Alex Champ (Toronto, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Stu Sells Tankard Championship title, Morozumi earned 37.500 world rankings points along with the $10,000CDN first prize cheque.
