Morozumi finished 3-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Morozumi defeated Daniel Casper (Chaska, MN) 7-1, then won 7-6 against Glenn Howard (Penetanguishene, ON). Morozumi went on to lose 7-6 against Jayden King (Guelph, ON). Morozumi responded with a 9-1 win over Alex Champ (Toronto, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Stu Sells Tankard Championship title, Morozumi earned 37.500 world rankings points along with the $10,000CDN first prize cheque. Morozumi move up 7 spots after posting a net gain of 24 points improving upon their best 3 results so far this season, ranking 23rd overall with 149.344 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
