Dallas Burgess (Thunder Bay, NONT) lost 7-4 to Johnson Tao (Edmonton, AB) in the Final of the New Holland Canadian Junior Championship, held March 25 - April 2, 2023 in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec. To advance to the championship game, Burgess won 7-6 over Jordon McDonald (Winnepeg, MB) in the semifinals of the 2023 New Holland Canadian Junior Championship in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec; and won 9-4 over Nova Scotia's Calan MacIsaac in the quarterfinals. of the 2023 New Holland Canadian Junior Championship in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec;
Burgess finished 5-3 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Burgess lost 9-7 to Jace Freeman (Virden, MB), droppimg another game, 12-9 to McDonald where Burgess responded with a 10-9 win over Chase MacMillan (Cornwall, PEI). Burgess won 10-3 against Thomas Reed (Maple Ridge, BC), then won 8-6 against Leandre Girard (Trois-Rivieres, QC) and 8-3 against Jayden King (Ottawa, ON). Burgess went on to lose 8-4 against James Ballance (Lethbridge, AB). Burgess responded with a 10-8 win over Newfoundland / Labrador's Nathan Young in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the New Holland Canadian Junior Championship, Burgess take home 16.500 world rankings points. For week 35 of the event schedule, Burgess did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Burgess ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
