McDonald won 9-2 against Chase MacMillan (Cornwall, PEI), then won 7-4 against Jayden King (Ottawa, ON) and 8-4 against Jace Freeman (Virden, MB). McDonald won 9-3 against Newfoundland / Labrador's Nathan Young, then won 10-4 against James Ballance (Lethbridge, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
With their third place finish at the New Holland Canadian Junior Championship, McDonald earn 13.500 world rankings points. For week 35 of the event schedule, McDonald did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points.
