CHAMPION: Jones/Laing Wins 2023 Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Championship

Jennifer Jones/Brent Laing (Barrie, ON) won 9-4 over Jocelyn Peterman/Brett Gallant (Calgary, AB) in the Final of the Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Championship, held March 21 - 26, 2023 in Sudbury, Ontario. To advance to the championship game, Jones/Laing won 6-5 over Rachel Homan/Tyler Tardi (Ottawa, ON) in the semifinals of the 2023 Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Championship in Sudbury, Ontario; and won 7-2 over Lisa Weagle/John Epping (Toronto, ON) in the quarterfinals. of the 2023 Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Championship in Sudbury, Ontario;

Jones/Laing finished 7-0 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Jones/Laing defeated Tracy Fleury/Jake Horgan (Sudbury, ON) 6-4, then won 9-3 against Stephanie Bukurak/Adam Bukurak (Regina, SK) and 6-5 against Kadriana Lott/Colton Lott (Gimli , MB). Jones/Laing won 9-3 against Margot Flemming/Jamie Koe (Yellowknife, NT), then won 8-5 against Melissa Adams/Alex Robichaud (Moncton, NB) and 10-6 against Lauren Wasylkiw/Shane Konings (Stouffville, ON). Jones/Laing won 7-6 against Weagle/Epping in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Championship Championship title, Jones/Laing earned 75.000 world rankings points, remaining in 709th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 179.376 total points. Jones/Laing ranks 2nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 179.376 points earned so far this season.
