To advance to the championship game, Bottcher won 6-3 over Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL) in the semifinals of the 2023 HearingLife Tour Challenge Tier 1 in Niagara Falls, Ontario; and won 5-3 over Yannick Schwaller (Geneve, SUI) in the quarterfinals. of the 2023 HearingLife Tour Challenge Tier 1 in Niagara Falls, Ontario;
Bottcher finished 2-2 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Bottcher defeated Wouter Gosgens (Zoetermeer, NED) 4-3, then went on to lose 6-5 against Gushue. Bottcher lost 7-1 to Matt Dunstone (Winnipeg, MB) where Bottcher responded with a 8-2 win over Korey Dropkin (Duluth, MN) in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the HearingLife Tour Challenge Tier 1, Bottcher take home 55.000 world rankings points along with the $21,000CDN prize, remaining in 1st place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 9.75 after improving upon their best so far this season. Bottcher ranks 1st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 186.250 points earned so far this season.
