Edin finished 4-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Edin lost 6-1 to Yves Stocker (Zug, SUI), then responded with a 8-3 win over Christopher Oka (Ottawa, ON). Edin won 8-4 against Reid Carruthers (Winnipeg, MB), then won 7-4 against Sam Steep (Kitchener-Waterloo, ON) and 9-1 against Pat Ferris (Grimsby, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
