Vaughan finished 3-2 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Vaughan lost 6-3 to Scott Smith (Edmonton, AB), then responded with a 11-7 win over Guy Algot (Sherwood Park, AB). Vaughan won 6-4 against Marla Sherrer (Lacombe, AB), then won 7-5 against Warren Cross (Sherwood Park, AB). Vaughan went on to lose 6-4 against Mike Lambert (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
