Laycock finished 5-1 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Laycock defeated Logan Ede (Saskatoon, SK) 8-4, then won 8-5 against Rylan Kleiter (Saskatoon, SK). Laycock went on to lose 9-7 against Knapp. Laycock responded with a 5-4 win over Dustin Kalthoff (Saskatoon, SK). Laycock won 8-2 against Kody Hartung (Saskatoon, SK) to advance to the B-Qualifier where they 10-4 against Jacobson to advance to the playoff round. in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the SaskTel Tankard, Laycock take home 19.250 world rankings points. Laycock move up 22 spots after posting a net gain of 15.104 points improving upon their best 7 results so far this season, ranking 46th overall with 72.583 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
