Darryl Sobering (Denver, CO) finished 1-6 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sobering lost 8-4 to Scott Dunnam (Philadelphia, PA), droppimg another game, 9-4 to Daniel Casper (Chaska, MN). Sobering lost 10-3 to John Shuster (Duluth, MN). Sobering lost 10-4 to Jason Smith (Nashville, TN). Sobering lost 7-1 to Ethan Sampson (Chaska, MN) where Sobering responded with a 10-5 win over Rich Ruohonen (Chaska, MN). Sobering went on to lose 8-5 against Korey Dropkin (Duluth, MN) in their final qualifying round match.

Sobering earned 2.063 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 28 of the event schedule, Sobering did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Sobering ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
