Jason Smith (Nashville, TN) finished 3-4 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Smith defeated John Shuster (Duluth, MN) 10-6, then won 8-6 against Rich Ruohonen (Chaska, MN). Smith went on to lose 9-3 against Scott Dunnam (Philadelphia, PA). Smith responded with a 10-4 win over Darryl Sobering (Denver, CO). Smith went on to lose 6-4 against Korey Dropkin (Duluth, MN). Smith lost 10-1 to Daniel Casper (Chaska, MN). Smith lost 8-5 to Ethan Sampson (Chaska, MN) in their final qualifying round match.

Smith earned 6.188 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 28 of the event schedule, Smith did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Smith ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
