Ethan Sampson (Chaska, MN) finished 3-4 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sampson lost 7-4 to Rich Ruohonen (Chaska, MN), droppimg another game, 8-7 to John Shuster (Duluth, MN) where Sampson responded with a 6-5 win over Korey Dropkin (Duluth, MN). Sampson went on to lose 8-2 against Daniel Casper (Chaska, MN). Sampson responded with a 7-1 win over Darryl Sobering (Denver, CO). Sampson went on to lose 7-1 against Scott Dunnam (Philadelphia, PA). Sampson responded with a 8-5 win over Jason Smith (Nashville, TN) in their final qualifying round match.

Sampson earned 6.188 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 10 spots the World Ranking Standings into 95th place overall with 37.534 total points. Sampson ranks 94th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 33.751 points earned so far this season.
