Barone/Veidemanis finished 2-3 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Barone/Veidemanis defeated Susanna Santti/Iikko Santti (Hyvinkaa, FIN) 7-6, then won 8-5 against Kaidi Elmik/Mihhail Vlassov (Tallinn, EST). Barone/Veidemanis went on to lose 8-4 against Maia Ramsfjell/Magnus Ramsfjell (Trondheim, NOR). Barone/Veidemanis lost 8-2 to Schoell/Harsch.
