Alen Cadez (Zagreb, CRO) finished 4-4 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Cadez lost 6-5 to Eduard Nikolov (Kyiv, UKR), then responded with a 6-4 win over Reto Seiler (Sofia, BUL). Cadez went on to lose 12-9 against Steve Seixeiro (Lisbon, POR). Cadez lost 10-4 to Konstantin Rykov (Vilnius, LTU) where Cadez responded with a 8-7 win over Andorra's Josep Garcia. Cadez went on to lose 9-1 against Allen Coliban (Bucharest, ROU). Cadez responded with a 7-3 win over Liechtenstein's Matt Lukas. Cadez won 7-5 against Ireland's John Wilson in their final qualifying round match.

Cadez earned 1.406 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 89 spots the World Ranking Standings into 366th place overall with 1.406 total points. Cadez ranks 366th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 1.406 points earned so far this season.
