Joel Retornaz (Trentino, ITA) run at the 2023 Princess Auto Players' Championship came to an end in the semifinals with a 5-3 loss to Yannick Schwaller (Geneva, SUI). of the 2023 Princess Auto Players' Championship in Toronto, Ontario;
Retornaz finished 4-1 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Retornaz defeated Bruce Mouat (Stirling, SCO) 6-3, then went on to lose 6-4 against Schwaller. Retornaz responded with a 5-3 win over Ross Whyte (Stirling, SCO). Retornaz won 8-2 against Reid Carruthers (Winnipeg, MB), then won 5-3 against Matt Dunstone (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
Retornaz earned 42.500 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Princess Auto Players' Championship, remaining in 4th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 15 after improving upon their best so far this season. Retornaz ranks 4th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 351.750 points earned so far this season.
