Gushue went on to lose 5-4 against Brendan Bottcher (Calgary, AB). Gushue responded with a 9-3 win over Korey Dropkin (Duluth, MN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Gushue earned 42.500 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Princess Auto Players' Championship, remaining in 1st place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 21.25 after improving upon their best so far this season. Gushue ranks 1st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 397.500 points earned so far this season.
