Brent Pierce (Kelowna, BC) needed a tiebreaker to advance to the playoffs, Pierce finished 3-2 in the 30-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Pierce defeated Mike McEwen (Toronto, ON) 6-4, then won 7-3 against Paul Cseke (Victoria, BC). Pierce went on to lose 6-4 against John Shuster (Duluth, MN). Pierce responded with a 8-2 win over Blaine Black (Penticton, BC). Pierce went on to lose 6-3 against Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) in their final qualifying round match.

Pierce earned 10.500 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 14 of the event schedule, Pierce did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Pierce ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
