Ross Paterson (Glasgow , SCO) qualified for the 2022 St. Galler Elite Challenge playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 5-2 against Sixten Totzek (Munich, GER). of the 2022 St. Galler Elite Challenge in St. Gallen, Switzerland;

Paterson finished 3-1 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Paterson defeated Rene Iseli (Aarau, SUI) 7-4, then went on to lose 5-4 against Mark Watt (Perth, SCO). Paterson responded with a 9-3 win over Yves Stocker (Zug, SUI). Paterson won 8-7 against Konrad Stych (Lodz, POL) in their final qualifying round match.

Paterson earned 10.682 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the St. Galler Elite Challenge, moving up 6 spots the World Ranking Standings into 23rd place overall with 128.740 total points.
