In their opening game, Simmons lost 7-4 to Jason Gunnlaugson (Winnipeg, MB), droppimg another game, 7-6 to Tanner Horgan (Kingston, ON) where Simmons responded with a 8-7 win over Michael Fournier (Montreal, QC). Simmons won 9-6 against Vincent Roberge (Etchemin, QC), then won 10-1 against Karsten Sturmay (Edmonton, AB) and 7-6 against Jeremy Harty (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.

Simmons earned 22.307 world rankings points for their Top 4 finish in the Home Hardware Curling Pre-Trials, moving up 2 spots the World Ranking Standings into 18th place overall with 162.463 total points. Simmons ranks 15th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 74.186 points earned so far this season.
