Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL) won 4-3 over Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste. Marie, NONT) in the Final Gushue advanced directly to the championship game after finishing first in the preliminary round. of the Tim Hortons Curling Trials, held November 20 - 28, 2021 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
Gushue finished 7-1 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Gushue defeated Brendan Bottcher (Edmonton, AB) 6-4, then won 7-3 against Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB) and 8-6 against John Epping (Toronto, ON). Gushue won 7-6 against Jacobs, then won 9-4 against Matt Dunstone (Regina, SK). Gushue went on to lose 7-6 against Jason Gunnlaugson (Winnipeg, MB). Gushue responded with a 10-1 win over Tanner Horgan (Kingston, ON). Gushue won 6-4 against Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Tim Hortons Curling Trials Championship title, Gushue earned 101.234 world rankings points. Gushue move up 2 spots after posting a net gain of 49.89 points improving upon their best 3 results so far this season, ranking 1st overall with 442.466 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Gushue ranks 1st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 244.593 points earned so far this season.
