Val Sweeting/Marc Kennedy (Edmonton, AB) won 8-3 over Paige Papley/Evan van Amsterdam (Edmonton, AB) in the Final of the Alberta Curling Series: Beaumont, held December 10 - 12, 2021 in Beaumont, Alberta. To advance to the championship game, Sweeting/Kennedy won 11-1 over Carrie Robertson/Alex Robertson (Stratford, ON) in the semifinals of the 2021 Alberta Curling Series: Beaumont in Beaumont, Alberta;
Sweeting/Kennedy finished 3-1 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sweeting/Kennedy defeated Pittman/Cody Smith (Okotoks, AB) 7-1, then won 9-6 against Cheryl Damen/Tyler van Amsterdam (Edmonton, AB). Sweeting/Kennedy went on to lose 9-5 against Papley/van Amsterdam. Sweeting/Kennedy responded with a 8-1 win over Krista Shortridge/Brady Gillies (Lethbridge, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Alberta Curling Series: Beaumont Championship title, Sweeting/Kennedy earned 14.613 world rankings points along with the $1,005CDN first prize cheque, remaining in 778th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 14.614 after improving upon their best so far this season. Sweeting/Kennedy ranks 45th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 35.718 points earned so far this season.
