Sixten Totzek (Munich, GER) finished 5-1 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Totzek defeated Rene Iseli (Aarau, SUI) 9-2, then won 9-2 against Martin Rios (Glarus, SUI) and 5-1 against Lukas Klima (Prague, CZE) to advance to a A-Qualifier game where they lost 6-4 against Sergei Glukhov (Moscow, RUS). Totzek responded with a 8-5 win over Marco Hoesli (Zug, SUI) to advance to the B-Qualifier where they 7-1 against Klima to advance to the playoff round. in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Grand Prix Bern Inter Curling Challenge, Totzek take home 24.908 world rankings points along with the $4,754CDN prize, moving up 12 spots the World Ranking Standings into 40th place overall with 79.169 total points. Totzek ranks 26th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 53.008 points earned so far this season.
