To advance to the championship game, Sturmay won 5-4 over Andrin Schnider (Schaffhausen, SUI) in the semifinals of the 2021 DEKALB Superspiel in Morris, Manitoba, Canada; and won 6-2 over Daniel Casper (Chaska, MN) in the quarterfinals. of the 2021 DEKALB Superspiel in Morris, Manitoba, Canada;
 
Sturmay finished 4-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sturmay defeated Sean Grassie (Winnipeg, MB) 6-2, then won 7-2 against William Lyburn (Winnipeg, MB) to advance to a A-Qualifier game where they lost 7-4 against Colton Lott (Winnipeg, MB). Sturmay responded with a 7-3 win over Jordon McDonald (Winnipeg, MB) to advance to the B-Qualifier where they 6-4 against Gunnlaugson to advance to the playoff round. in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the DEKALB Superspiel, Sturmay take home 30.647 world rankings points along with the $6,400CDN prize, moving up 5 spots the World Ranking Standings into 27th place overall with 147.187 total points. Sturmay ranks 25th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 82.189 points earned so far this season.
