Larway finished 6-2 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Larway defeated Jon Schiestel (Greeley, CO) 7-2, then won 11-6 against Craig Halliday (Denver, CO) and 7-4 against Mark Carothers (Fairbanks, AK). Larway went on to lose 8-6 against Russell Heier (Bismarck, ND). Larway responded with a 9-7 win over Seppo Sormunen (Duluth, MN). Larway won 7-6 against Jeff Erickson (Duluth, MN), then won 8-4 against Wright. Larway went on to lose 0-0 against Pustovar in their final qualifying round match.
