In their opening game, Farbelow defeated Murray Jackson (Durham, NC) 7-3, then won 9-2 against Bill Gryder (Fairbanks, AK) and 6-1 against Al Gulseth (Fargo, ND). Farbelow won 7-6 against Steve Shuttleworth (Portland, OR), then won 8-2 against Bob Leclair (Goodyear, AZ) and 7-2 against Dave Running (Hibbing, MN). Farbelow won 7-6 against Paul Pustovar (Hibbing, MN). Farbelow went on to lose 0-0 against Wright in their final qualifying round match.
 
Farbelow ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
