In their opening game, Cheal lost 10-9 to Jacques Gauthier (Winnipeg, MB), droppimg another game, 6-4 to Jacob Horgan (Sudbury, NONT). Cheal lost 8-4 to Tyler Smith (Montague, PEI). Cheal lost 8-6 to Graeme Weagle (Chester, NS) where Cheal responded with a 7-6 win over Liam Marin (Saint John, NB). Cheal went on to lose 7-3 against Brett Walter (Winnipeg, MB). Cheal lost 7-4 to Hayato Sato (New Westminster, BC). Cheal lost 10-8 to Owen Purdy (Kingston, ON). Cheal lost 7-6 to Sawer Kaeser (Fort Smith, NT) in their final qualifying round match.

Cheal earned 1.145 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 27 of the event schedule, Cheal did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Cheal ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
