Brett Walter (Winnipeg, MB) finished 5-5 in the 14-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Walter lost 5-4 to Tyler Smith (Montague, PEI), then responded with a 9-4 win over Graeme Weagle (Chester, NS). Walter won 7-5 against Liam Marin (Saint John, NB). Walter went on to lose 9-4 against Jacques Gauthier (Winnipeg, MB). Walter responded with a 7-3 win over Greg Cheal (Lennoxville, QC). Walter won 5-4 against Jacob Horgan (Sudbury, NONT). Walter went on to lose 9-8 against Ryan Jacques (Edmonton, AB). Walter lost 7-6 to Rylan Kleiter (Saskatoon, SK) where Walter responded with a 11-6 win over Hayato Sato (New Westminster, BC). Walter went on to lose 8-5 against Daniel Bruce (St. John's, NL) in their final qualifying round match.

Walter earned 5.726 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 27 of the event schedule, Walter did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Walter ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
