Grant Olsen (Kamloops, BC) finished 1-3 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Olsen lost 11-2 to Sean Geall (Abbotsford, BC), then responded with a 6-5 win over Rob Dennis (Delta, BC). Olsen went on to lose 8-6 against Chris Medford (Cranbrook, BC). Olsen lost 5-4 to Glen Jackson (Victoria, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
