Corryn Brown (Kamloops, BC) lost 4-3 to Alina Kovaleva (Saint-Petersburg , RUS) in the Final of the China Open, held December 13 - 17, 2019 in Tianjin, China. To advance to the championship game, Brown won 5-4 over Irene Schori (Limmattal, SUI) in the semifinals of the 2019 China Open in Tianjin, China;
 
Brown finished 5-2 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Brown defeated EunJung Kim (Uiseong, KOR) 7-5, then went on to lose 5-2 against Schori. Brown responded with a 10-3 win over Madison Bear (St.Paul, MN). Brown won 8-6 against Asuka Kanai (Nagano, JPN). Brown went on to lose 6-1 against Kovaleva. Brown responded with a 8-7 win over Daniela Jentsch (Fuessen, GER). Brown won 6-2 against Yu Han (Beijing, CHN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the China Open, Brown take home 25.833 world rankings points along with the $5,194CDN prize. Brown move up 7 spots after posting a net gain of 13.423 points improving upon their best 8 results so far this season, ranking 20th overall with 203.732 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
