Korey Dropkin (Chaska, USA) lost 7-6 to Chang-Min Kim (Uiseong, KOR) in the Final of the China Open, held December 13 - 17, 2019 in Tianjin, China. To advance to the championship game, Dropkin won 6-3 over Braden Calvert (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals of the 2019 China Open in Tianjin, China;
 
Dropkin finished 5-2 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Dropkin lost 6-5 to Jaap van Dorp (Zoetermeer, NED), then responded with a 6-5 win over Fredrik Nyman (Stockholm, SWE). Dropkin won 9-4 against Sergei Glukhov (Sochi, RUS), then won 8-6 against Andrin Schnider (St. Gallen, SUI) and 7-3 against Calvert. Dropkin went on to lose 7-6 against Kim. Dropkin responded with a 7-2 win over Qiang Zou (Beijing, CHN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the China Open, Dropkin take home 25.523 world rankings points along with the $5,194CDN prize. Dropkin move up 3 spots after posting a net gain of 12.025 points improving upon their best 8 results so far this season, ranking 17th overall with 233.354 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
