Grassie finished 3-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Grassie defeated Ryan 5-4, then won 6-5 against Bohn and 7-1 against Tanner Horgan (Winnipeg Beach, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the The Sunova Spiel at East St. Paul Championship title, Grassie earned 25.985 world rankings points along with the $2,900CDN first prize cheque, moving up 24 spots the World Ranking Standings into 65th place overall with 80.155 total points. Grassie ranks 44th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 63.332 points earned so far this season.
