Todd Birr (Ham Lake, MN) finished 3-6 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Birr lost 8-7 to Scott Dunnam (Philadelphia, PA), droppimg another game, 7-6 to Chase Sinnett (Medfield, MA) where Birr responded with a 12-5 win over Kyle Kakela (Rolla, ND). Birr went on to lose 8-4 against John Shuster (Duluth, USA). Birr lost 8-0 to Jed Brundidge (West St. Paul, MN) where Birr responded with a 8-7 win over Dominik Maerki (Chaska, MN). Birr won 10-5 against Steven Birklid (Mountlake Terrace, WA). Birr went on to lose 8-4 against Rich Ruohonen (Minneapolis, USA). Birr lost 10-2 to Korey Dropkin (Chaska, USA) in their final qualifying round match.

Birr earned 7.003 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. Birr move up 2 spots after posting a net gain of 5.759 points improving upon their best 8 results so far this season, ranking 59th overall with 76.008 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Birr ranks 59th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 76.008 points earned so far this season.
