Kerri Einarson (Gimli, MB) won 8-7 over Rachel Homan (Ottawa, ON) in the Final of the Scotties Tournament of Hearts, held February 15 - 23, 2020 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.
Einarson finished 9-2 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Einarson defeated Noemie Verreault (Chicoutiimi, QC) 9-4, then won 6-4 against Lori Eddy (Iqaluit, NU) and 8-7 against Krista McCarville (Thunder Bay, NONT). Einarson won 6-5 against Chelsea Carey (Calgary, CAN). Einarson went on to lose 13-7 against Andrea Crawford (Oromocto, NB). Einarson responded with a 10-6 win over Robyn Silvernagle (North Battleford, SK). Einarson won 8-6 against Laura Walker (Edmonton, AB), then won 8-4 against Corryn Brown (Kamloops, BC) and 9-4 against Suzanne Birt (Montague, PEI). Einarson went on to lose 12-7 against Jennifer Jones (Winnipeg, MB). Einarson responded with a 9-6 win over Homan in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Scotties Tournament of Hearts Championship title, Einarson earned 73.103 world rankings points along with the $105,000CDN first prize cheque. Einarson move up 1 spots after posting a net gain of 64.2 points improving upon their best 8 results so far this season, ranking 2nd overall with 420.070 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Einarson ranks 2nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 420.070 points earned so far this season.
