To advance to the championship game, Gushue won 6-3 over Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB) in the semifinals of the 2019 Kioti Tractor Tour Challenge Tier 1 in Pictou County, Nova Scotia; and won 4-3 over Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) in the quarterfinals.
 
Gushue finished 4-0 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Gushue defeated Scott McDonald (Kingston, ON) 6-4, then won 7-3 against Edin and 6-2 against Glenn Howard (Penetanguishene , ON). Gushue won 8-4 against John Epping (Toronto, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Kioti Tractor Tour Challenge Tier 1, Gushue take home 59.462 world rankings points along with the $18,000CDN prize, moving up 4 spots the World Ranking Standings into 5th place overall with 429.800 total points. Gushue ranks 3rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 193.946 points earned so far this season.
