Wenzek finished 2-2 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Wenzek defeated Mark Longworth (Vernon, BC) 5-4, then went on to lose 8-2 against Tardi. Wenzek responded with a 6-3 win over British Columbia's Steve Wright. Wenzek went on to lose 9-2 against Sean Geall (Abbotsford, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
