Pollanen won 7-3 against Andrin Schnider (St. Gallen, SUI), then won 8-3 against Martin Bukovsky (Prague, CZE) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Tallinn Mens International Challenger Championship title, Pollanen earned 14.012 world rankings points along with the $1,739CDN first prize cheque, moving up 86 spots the World Ranking Standings into 136th place overall with 24.117 total points.
