Ross Whyte (Dumfries, SCO) won 10-6 over Callum Kinnear (Perth, SCO) in the Final of the Scottish Junior Curling Championships, held January 23 - 27, 2019 in Aberdeen, Scotland.
 
Whyte finished 7-0 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Whyte defeated Angus Bryce (Kelso, SCO) 8-7, then won 12-2 against Orrin Carson (Dumfries, SCO) and 6-3 against Kinnear. Whyte won 8-3 against Hamish Gallacher (Dumfries, SCO), then won 8-2 against Euan MacDiarmid (Forfar, SCO) and 8-2 against Blair Haswell (Stranraer, SCO). Whyte won 8-1 against Fraser Morton (Dumfries, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Scottish Junior Curling Championships Championship title, Whyte earned 16.031 world rankings points. For week 24 of the event schedule, Whyte did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Whyte ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
