Schwaller finished 3-2 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Schwaller lost 9-3 to Ross Paterson (Glasgow, SCO), then responded with a 8-1 win over Sebastian Wunderer (Kitzbuehel, AUT). Schwaller won 8-5 against Jaap van Dorp (Zoetermeer, NED). Schwaller went on to lose 9-6 against Brydone. Schwaller responded with a 7-2 win over Sergei Glukhov (Sochi, RUS) in their final qualifying round match.
Schwaller earned 17.574 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Aberdeen International Curling Championship, remaining in 14th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 0.762 after improving upon their best so far this season.
