Lukas Klima (Prague, CZE) finished 5-3 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Klima defeated Daniel Magnusson (Karlstad, SWE) 6-5, then won 7-3 against Glen Muirhead (Perth, SCO) and 7-5 against Sergei Glukhov (Sochi, RUS). Klima went on to lose 10-4 against Jan Hess (Zug, SUI). Klima lost 6-3 to Mingjie Yuan (Beijing, CHN). Klima lost 8-6 to Matt Dunstone (Regina, SK) where Klima responded with a 6-5 win over Weihaoping Wang (Beijing, CHN). Klima won 10-6 against Andrew Stopera (Chaska, USA) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Qinghai Curling Elite, Klima take home 20.482 world rankings points along with the $13,385CDN prize, moving up 83 spots the World Ranking Standings into 114th place overall with 35.494 total points. Klima ranks 98th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 32.168 points earned so far this season.
